Ora Canta
Translated from Italian, Ora Canta means “now sing.” It is a new genre of sung prayer to be used in the liturgy. With simple, repetitive melodies, Ora Canta will help to center the mind and calm the spirit. Many of the songs have an ostinato refrain with verses overlaid. Ora Canta are similar in style and concept to traditional Taizé. The short melodies can be used in a number of ways in liturgy - in transitions, meditations, preparation for communion. International Liturgy Publications is the only publisher to offer this new genre of simple songs for worship.
